A Sunday in and Around Llandudno
21st June 2026

Seagull on a Boat
Last night I went to bed early (before 9 o’clock), I was very tired and my feet hurt because of all the walking. I woke up early this morning; my feet seem to have recovered. I decided to get up and take some photos of the seafront at Llandudno; I was there by seven. There were very few people around at this time, some of the photos I took appear in this post.
After another excellent breakfast, I lay on my bed and read Mike Rutherford’s book, The Living Years for a bit. I need to take care walking today; I need to try and walk a lot less.
Tapps@Ross
The Tapps@Ross micropub opens at midday on Sunday, so I decided to visit it early in the afternoon, like at opening time. I got to Rhos just after eleven and had a mooch around the town taking some photos of the seafront, which are on this post. There’s not a lot here, but at least the beach has sand in places, better than Llandudno.
Tapps@Ross is an excellent micropub, see this post.
Initially, I thought I would skip taking photos of the Waverley today in order to rest my body. After three pints I decided that if I carried on this way I was going to get pissed. I also decided that I needed to see the ship again, it was the reason for my trip here. So, I caught the bus back to Llandudno.
If it wasn’t for Tapps@Rhos I’d never return to Rhos-On-Sea.
Waverley Paddle Steamer
Back in Llandudno I walked along the pier again (it was more crowded than yesterday), to get photos of the Waverley. You can see them in this post.
I’m glad I made the effort to go, I now have photos of the ship arriving and departing, from the end of the pier.
Drinking and Resting
The walk along the pier started to tire my feet out, so I went straight to Tapps, Llandudno for a rest and a bier. For the rest of the day, I need to keep the walking to a minimum.
After a couple of restorative pints sitting at the bar people watching, I caught the bus to Conwy for a short session in The Albion. Followed by fish and chips from the Archway fish and chippy.
I also decided to visit Tapps@Conwy again, to see if it was not so busy. It was, so I left after a quick pint.
Then back to Llandudno for a quick pint in Tapps (I’m really starting to like this micropub). It was only meant to be one, but I was enjoying, reading Mike Rutherford’s book The Living Years, sitting at the bar. Nearly two hours and three pints later I went back to the guest house to sleep.
I drank a lot today, but it was over ten hours so - I didn’t feel pissed at the end.
Another excellent day spent in and around Llandudno.
