Christmas Tree, Huddersfield Station

Christmas tree and rail replacement busses at Huddersfield

Yesterday I was trying to take some photos of Christmas lights and failed miserably due to the lack of them in easy to photograph places, and, in the case of Marsden, being turned off.

The above photo was taken outside Huddersfield station, at ten to six in the morning. If I had been there five minutes earlier the coach and bus would not have been there. They arrived as I was setting up my tripod!

Yesterday was the 23rd and today is the 24th of December, two of the busiest days in the year for rail travel. So, what have the powers that be done, they’ve closed the railway between Huddersfield and Leeds. The coach and bus are rail replacement vehicles! Stupid, unbelievable.

The photo below shows the tree and the grand entrance to Huddersfield station.
