Marsden Christmas Tree

Today I was up and out the house at ten to five in the morning, to get some photos of Christmas lights and to beat the shopping rush at Sainsbury’s. A very early start.

The Marsden lights were not on; they seem to be turned off late at night. I did get a photo of the Christmas tree in the park (it was a thirty second exposure). It’s one of my rare photos of Christmas lights this year. I hoped to get a lot more, but I’ve been stymied by the lack of lights. I wrote about this here.

It was a real shame; the Marsden lights are easy to photograph as they are attached to walls.

On the way into town I tried Slaithwaite, their lights were on, but difficult to photograph as they were all on lamp posts. The lights at Linthwaite were also on, but again, difficult to photograph for the same reason.

In town, I eventually found some that could be photographed easily. I’ll be writing about them tomorrow.
