Ships at the Pier Head

Two warships at Cammel Lairds

The photos on this page were taken at the Pier Head looking out to the River Mersey. In dark, gloomy weather, with intermittent showers, some pretty heavy.

The first two show warships being repaired at Camel Lairds shipyard. I took some photos of the warships there during a walk on a hot and humid day last August, they are here.

While I was there the Stenna Embla ferry set sail for Belfast, an eight-hour journey. It was over an hour late. Soon I hope to do that journey myself, using the overnight ferry.

The following photos show the Mersey Ferry Snowdrop. You can also see a Stenna Line freighter arriving at the dock. And lots of rain laden clouds.
