Today’s photo is of the Station Buffet Bar at Stalybridge station.

This pub is one of the few remaining Victorian station buffet bars and is well worth a visit. If you are passing through on the train and have a ticket that allows for breaks of journey, it is well worth stopping for a few bevvies. Though a word of warning, it can get very busy at weekends due to ale trailers.

It has been in Camra’s Good Beer guide for several years. It has several handpumps serving a variety of real ales and ciders. A good range of bottled beers are available. It also serves a variety of snacks.

This photo was taken yesterday with my mobile phone, my DSLR is defunct. It won’t be winning prizes, a similar photo taken with my DSLR would be far better. But it works, it shows one of my favourite bars. For the next couple of months, all my photos will be taken with my mobile phone.

Hopefully, in September/October I will acquire a new mirrorless DSLR.
