Sankey Canal, Penketh

Behind the Ferry Tavern at Penketh is the Sankey Canal, you cross over it to get to the pub. The canal runs from Widnes to Warrington, following the River Mersey, the towpath is a fine walk.

In the background is the Fiddlers Ferry power station. It was decommissioned in March 2020 as part of net zero and global warming. It is currently being demolished.
